Veniese Bradley
Deputy Director
Prior to her joining the National College Advising Corps at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in July 2010, Veniese Bradley began her college access work in the Chicago Public Schools. She is an experienced college access professional who has utilized her MBA degree to support school level teams to graduate all students prepared for college and careers. In 2004, Ms. Bradley joined the Chicago Public Schools Department of Postsecondary Education and Student Development as a Postsecondary Coach at Kenwood Academy. In this capacity, she partnered with the school counseling team, faculty and building administrators to create workshops and implement data-driven programs to increase college enrollment. In 2005 she became a Postsecondary Specialist and expanded her college access support to 17 high schools within the district.
Understanding the critical importance of data driven programming and measuring results, Ms. Bradley has developed expertise on the ASCA National Counseling Model and data collection strategies, using Naviance, Microsoft Excel spread sheets and other web-based applications. Additionally, she worked closely to ensure the successful transition of students from high school to college through her work with the student support services at Chicago area colleges. She was also the co-founder of “S.E.R.I.O.U.S.” a city-wide success program that supports the transition of high school seniors to college.
