Jennifer Juarez
I have greatly enjoyed my stay at Roberto Clemente High School. The unforgettable stories and experiences from the students are irreplaceable. I have learned and taught, I have served as a mentor and a big sister to many students. One thinks that students do not appreciate your help, but when you hear them ask “ Ms. Juarez, why weren’t you here since our freshmen year?” makes you realize how much they appreciate all the help I have provided them.
The guidance that I provide is drawn from my own personal experiences and oddly enough I see these students as my own reflection of when I was their age. They all have similar cultural backgrounds as mine and have faced similar situations as me so their dialog is easy to comprehend.... I often put myself in their shoes and understanding certain things at their age is very hard but it only prepares them for even greater issues they may have to fight when they grow older.
