Mary Laphen – College Adviser at Huntingdon Area HS and Southern Huntingdon County HS

 I had a student who accepted admission to a small private liberal arts school with the impression that the school would meet her financial need. When she did receive her financial aid package, she realized her family would not be able to pay the balance. The student and I then called the school's Financial Aid office to explain her family circumstances and find out her options. We then composed a letter to be sent to the Financial Aid Office. About a week later, the student received a letter stating that her financial need would be completely met.
